Rep. Calvin Smyre Receives Georgia Municipal Association’s Key Citizen Award

ATLANTA – State Representative Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus), Dean of the Georgia House of Representatives, recently received the Georgia Municipal Association’s (GMA) Key Citizen Award, which is GMA’s highest form of recognition. Dean Smyre was presented with the award during the organization’s 2022 Annual Convention in Savannah on June 26, 2022.

Columbus Legislative Delegation to Host Bridge Dedication Ceremony for Late Judge Albert W. Thompson

ATLANTA – The Columbus Legislative Delegation will host a memorial bridge dedication ceremony for the late Judge Albert W. Thompson, Sr. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the TSYS Parking Lot A near the south end of the 2nd Ave. bridge (corner of 2nd Ave. and 15th St.) in Columbus.

Rep. Calvin Smyre to Address Georgia House of Representatives After 48 Years of Service

ATLANTA – State Representative Calvin Smyre (D-Columbus), Dean of the Georgia House of Representatives, will address his colleagues during Legislative Day 40, the final day of the 2022 legislative session, on Monday, April 4, 2022, which will convene at 10 a.m. Rep. Smyre will give his remarks shortly after the House convenes in the House Chamber. Georgia residents will be able to watch a live stream of Rep. Smyre’s remarks here.
