ATLANTA –– State Representative Meagan Hanson (R-Brookhaven) today announced that the Georgia House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 17, the “Brunch Bill,” on Monday, March 12, 2018. Rep. Hanson sponsored SB 17 in the House, and SB 17 would allow local governing authorities to authorize alcoholic beverages sales beginning at 11 a.m. on Sundays subject to the passage of a referendum. Rep. Hanson Introduces Legislation Eliminating County-Level CEO Positions Statewide

ATLANTA – State Representative Meagan Hanson (R-Brookhaven) last week introduced House Bill 961, which would eliminate the elected CEO position for county governments statewide. Rep. Hanson has been passionate about eliminating the DeKalb County CEO position for several years, and by introducing this legislation, she is following in the footsteps of DeKalb County State Representatives Scott Holcomb (D-Atlanta) and Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) who proposed local legislation to eliminate the DeKalb County CEO position in 2016. Rep. Hanson Co-Sponsors Transit Legislation; Appointed to Special Subcommittee on HB 930

ATLANTA – State Representative Meagan Hanson (R-Brookhaven) co-sponsored House Bill 930, legislation recently introduced that would create a new regional governance and funding structure for transit in the 13-county metropolitan Atlanta region. The bill was announced during a press conference at the Georgia State Capitol on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Subsequently, Rep. Hanson was selected by House Transportation Committee Chairman Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville) to serve on a special transportation subcommittee to hear House Bill 930. Continue reading “Rep.
