ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) seeks to make constituents aware of the Georgia Dream Homeownership Program, a state program created to make homeownership possible for eligible rural Georgians with incomes up to $74,500 or $86,000 per year. Residents in Tift, Berrien and Cook counties could apply for affordable financing options, down payment and closing cost assistance and homebuyer education.

Rep. Penny Houston Receives Hurricane Ian Briefing at State Operations Center, GEMA/HS Headquarters

ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville), chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development, yesterday visited the State Operations Center and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security (GEMA/HS) headquarters and received a briefing regarding Hurricane Ian’s path and potential impact on South Georgia. The State Operations Center, which was activated this week by Governor Brian Kemp and emergency management officials, is a Multi-Agency Coordination Center used by state, federal, local and volunteer agencies, as well as private sector organizations, to respond to disasters or emergencies that require a coordinated state response.

Rep. Penny Houston Commends Georgia Jobs and Infrastructure Committees, Makes Constituents Aware of State Recovery Funding

ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) commends Governor Brian Kemp for creating the Georgia Jobs and Infrastructure Committees to advise on spending the federal coronavirus relief funds that were allocated to Georgia through the American Rescue Plan. Georgia industries impacted by COVID-19 will be able to apply for this state recovery funding during the month of August.

Speaker Ralston Announces Members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 Session
