ATLANTA—Georgia State Representative Mark Butler (R-Carrolton) has co-sponsored legislation that would preclude the Georgia Department of Revenue from assessing state income tax on the expected 2008 federal stimulus package that is expected to pass the Congress in the near term. Most federal taxpayers will receive between a $600 and $1,200 rebate check from the federal government. (more…)
