Representatives Morgan & Fludd Announce Closing The Achievement Gap Education Summit

ATLANTA – The Closing the Achievement Gap Education Summit, co-sponsored by both Rep. Alisha Morgan (D-Austell) and Rep. Virgil Fludd (D-Tyrone), will take place at the State Capitol today, May 18th from 4 PM – 7 PM. The Summit will include an action center to connect stakeholders with advocacy organizations, followed by seminars in how the current achievement gap in Georgia education affects graduation rates and higher education. The Summit will conclude with a rally on the Capitol steps with remarks from civic and community leaders. (more…)

This legislation was authored by Representative Kevin Levitas (D- Atlanta) and Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R- Woodstock) to allow property owners to take property assessment disputes directly to arbitration. HB 251 Empowers Parents To Make Good Decisions
