Rep. Hill Announces House Office to be Closed 3 Days

ATLANTA – As part of the three furlough days being taken by state employees by the end of this year, all House and Senate offices will be closed on September 8, October 9, and November 25, 2009. These furlough days will affect the state Representatives and Senators as well as the General Assembly staff. (more…)

House Transportation Committee Approves Todd Long as First GDOT Director of Planning

ATLANTA – Today the House Transportation Committee approved Todd Long as the first Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The recommendation came in a unanimous vote following a hearing of the full committee on Governor Sonny Perdue’s recent appointee. (more…)

Rep. Morgan Honored For Leadership in Education at National Action Network Conference

ATLANTA – Rep. Alisha Morgan (D-Austell) stole the show this weekend at the National Action Network’s Summer Conference. The National Action Network (NAN), founded by Rev. Fludd Tapped for IME Informative Conference

ATLANTA – State Representative Virgil Fludd (D-Tyrone) has been selected to attend the IME Informative Conference. The Conference will be held in Mexico City, Mexico from August 26 – 29, 2009. Representative Glenn Baker Votes to Approve First GDOT Director of Planning

ATLANTA – Recently state Representative Glenn Baker (D- Jonesboro) was appointed to serve on the House Transportation Subcommittee on Approval of the Director of Planning by House Transportation Committee Chairman Jay Roberts (R- Ocilla). This subcommittee was organized to review Governor Sonny Perdue’s recent appointment, Mr. Todd Long, for the position of Director of Planning at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and make a recommendation to the full House Transportation Committee.
