Rep. Penny Houston Makes Georgians Aware of New Driver’s License Requirements
ATLANTA – State Representative Penny Houston (R-Nashville) announced today that the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) will begin requiring new documentation for obtaining and renewing driver’s licenses on July1, 2012. Under new federally mandated SAFFE DL (Secure Automated Fast Friendly Easier Driver’s License) Program, Georgians wishing to renew their driver’s license must provide documentation proving their identity, full legal name, current residential address, and social security number. Rep. Mark Hamilton Receives The Broadband Leader Award
ATLANTA – State Representative Mark Hamilton (R-Cumming) recently received “The Broadband Leader Award” from the Cable Television Association of Georgia (CTAG). The association chose to honor Rep. Hamilton with the award to recognize his work on House Bill 855, which places limits on phone subsidies paid by all phone customers to independently-owned local telephone companies. Rep. Morgan Addresses Math Teachers on State Tour
ATLANTA – State Representative Alisha Morgan (D-Austell) began a speaking tour throughout the state today. During this two month tour, Rep. Morgan will talk to math teachers about “equity in the classroom” as part of a series of summer academies being held throughout Georgia to help math teachers prepare for the new Common Core of Georgia Performance Standards, which will be implemented in the fall.
