Rep. Kirby Announces Introduction of the Georgia Fair Taxation Act of 2014

ATLANTA – State Representative Tom Kirby (R-Loganville) announced at a press conference today that he will introduce the Georgia Fair Taxation Act of 2014 on Thursday, March 28, 2013. This legislation would move Georgia to a “fair taxation” system by eliminating the state income tax completely.

Rep. Oliver Introduces School Board Legislation

ATLANTA — State Representatives Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur), Mike Dudgeon (R-Johns Creek), and Howard Mosby (D-Atlanta) today announced the introduction of House Bill 669. This bi-partisan legislation would create an additional option for local school boards sanctioned under the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Rep. Oliver Files Legislation to Allow Druid Hills and Briarcliff Neighborhoods to Decide Cityhood

ATLANTA – State Representative Mary Margaret Oliver (D-Decatur) today announced the introduction of House Bill 665, legislation that would allow the Druid Hills and Briarcliff neighborhoods to vote to decide if they want to become cities.

House Bills 161 and 458 Head to Governor

ATLANTA — House Bill 161 and House Bill 458, introduced by state Representative Alex Atwood (R-Brunswick), received final passage in the Senate on Monday, March 25, 2013, and will now go to the Governor for consideration. HB 161 would increase bailiff responsibilities within the courtroom, and HB 458 would reduce insurance costs for condominiums.
