ATLANTA – Yesterday, Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington), State Representative Steven Sainz (R-St Marys), chairman of the House Special Rules Committee, and other legislators joined Governor Brian Kemp in Brunswick, Ga. as he signed House Bill 1341 into law. Sponsored by Rep. Sainz and a priority of the First Lady of the House Dayle Burns, this legislation designates White Shrimp as the official state crustacean of Georgia.

Co-sponsored by Rep. Silcox, this act clarifies the definition of “mentally incapacitated” and admits out-of-court statements to be permissible as relevant testimony in court proceedings.
