Speaker Ralston Announces Appointments to the Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness
Roy Fickling of Macon and A.D. Frazier of Mineral Bluff will serve on the council

ATLANTA – House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the appointments of Roy Fickling and A.D. Frazier to the newly created Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians.  Speaker Ralston made these appointments after Governor Perdue signed House Bill 1405, which created the Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians.Below are brief biographies of Speaker Ralston’s appointments:

Roy Fickling, Macon— Fickling is President of Fickling & Company, a Georgia based regional real estate development, brokerage, management and consulting firm.  He serves as a Director for Oxigene Inc., a biopharmaceuticals company listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange, Piedmont Community Bank, and several closely held companies.  He also serves as President of Riverside Automotive, Inc.  Fickling was a founding Director of Beech Street, U.K., Ltd., an international healthcare administration firm located in London, England.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.  Fickling is a member of the Georgia Ports Authority, Georgia Rail Passenger Authority, and the Macon Economic Development Commission.  He has received several awards for his efforts in economic development throughout the state.  He and his wife, Teresa, have two children.

A.D. Frazier, Mineral Bluff— After a 40-year professional career in executive management of for-profit, not-for-profit and government entities, Frazier is now a Partner in Affiance, LLC, a Georgia based bank consulting firm.  He is currently on the boards of directors of Apache Corp. and MHM Services, Inc.  Prior corporate board memberships include Danka Business Systems, PLC, (Chairman and CEO), AMVESCAP PLC, The Chicago Stock Exchange (Chairman and CEO), Gold Kist, Inc (Chairman), Gevity, Inc., and Caremark Rx, Inc. From 1991-1996, Frazier was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games (ACOG) responsible for the overall operation of the games and a member of the ACOG Board of Directors.  He received both his Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and he completed the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.  Frazier was awarded the Olympic Order in Gold award for his service to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and received an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree from Piedmont College.  Frazier has served as a board member of the National Council on the Humanities (Presidential Appointee), Georgia Public Television Commission (First Chairman), and the Georgia Board of Corrections. He and his wife, Clair, own WACF-FM in Young Harris, Georgia.
