ATLANTA— State Representative Amy Carter (R-Valdosta) today issued the following statement regarding her appointment as one of Governor-Elect Nathan Deal’s Floor Leaders in the Georgia House of Representatives:

Representative Amy Carter represents the citizens of District 175, which includes portions of Lowndes County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006, and is currently the Secretary of Higher Education. She also serves on the Appropriations, Education, and Committee on Small Business Development and Jobs Creation.
