ATLANTA – State Representative Mark Hamilton (R-Cumming) issued the following statement today regarding Governor Nathan Deal’s announcement that all 12 members of the Digital Learning Task Force have been appointed:
“I am very excited that the final task force members have been announced by the Governor and we are already scheduling our first meeting for mid-November. It is an honor to work with such outstanding leaders from around the state and is very gratifying that Forsyth County citizens are being represented in this endeavor by two from Forsyth County. Dr. Buster Evans has had a very positive impact on the Forsyth County School System and the system is consistently recognized for the outstanding and cutting edge use of technology in education. His leadership and insight will be extremely valuable. I look forward to working with Dr. Evans and the other task force members to help prepare Georgia children for a bigger future through the use of technology in schools.”

Rep. Hamilton was one of the first members appointed to the Digital Learning Task Force in May of this year. Governor Deal created the task force to implement digital learning in Georgia’s K-12 schools. The task force is made up of 12 members named by the governor, including two superintendents, a state representative, a state senator, a district-level content specialist and business leaders who rely on a technically competent workforce. Representative Mark Hamilton represents the citizens of District 23, which includes parts of Cherokee and Forsyth counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006 and currently serves as Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee.
