Rep. Edward Lindsey Re-Elected House Majority Whip

ATLANTA – The House Republican Caucus re-elected Georgia State Representative Edward Lindsey (R-Atlanta) by acclamation as the House Majority Whip during caucus elections on Monday, November 12th. In this position, Rep. Lindsey will be responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and by helping the 119 members of the majority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.

“It is a tremendous honor to be re-elected House Majority Whip by my House Republican colleagues,” said House Majority Whip Edward Lindsey. “The voters have given our caucus a tremendous responsibility, and I look forward to joining my colleagues in helping advance strong conservative principles on behalf of the people of Georgia.”

This is Rep. Lindsey’s fifth term in the Georgia House of Representatives and his third as House Majority Whip.

Representative Edward Lindsey was elected Majority Whip by the Republican Caucus, the fourth highest ranking position in House leadership, on December 17, 2009. He represents the citizens of House District 54, which includes portions of Atlanta. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Rules, Appropriations, Education, Ethics, Industrial Relations, and Judiciary committees.
