House Speaker David Ralston Names Spiro Amburn Chief of Staff

ATLANTA- House Speaker David Ralston today announced Spiro Amburn as Chief of Staff to the Office of the Speaker. Amburn previously served as legislative affairs director for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

“Spiro is not only someone who I have a great deal of trust in, but he has served this state well as a committed public servant in his time in state government,” said Speaker David Ralston. “I am honored to have him leading our staff and confident that he will be an asset to the Speaker’s Office and the entire House of Representatives.”

Spiro Amburn: Amburn previously served as legislative affairs director for the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice. He also served as Governor Sonny Perdue’s deputy legislative affairs director. Amburn received his bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, April, have one child.
