House Speaker David Ralston Appoints Members to the Medicaid Reform Study Committee

ATLANTA- House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the following appointments to the Joint Study Committee on Medicaid Reform:

• State Representative Butch Parrish (R-Swainsboro), Co-Chair

• State Representative Craig Gordon (D-Savannah)

• State Representative Donna Sheldon (R-Dacula)

• State Representative Richard Smith (R-Columbus)

• State Representative Darlene Taylor (R-Thomasville)

• State Representative Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe)

The Joint Study Committee on Medicaid Reform, created by HR 107, is charged with evaluating the state’s Medicaid program, examining other states’ best practices and planning for future actions necessary to sustain appropriate levels of services and funding. The joint committee is an 18 member committee made up of six members appointed by the Speaker of the House, six members appointed by the Lieutenant Governor and six members appointed by the Governor.
