Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan Keynote Speaker at the iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium

ATLANTA— State Representative Alisha Thomas Morgan (D-Austell) appeared as a keynote speaker during the 2013 International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) Blended and Online Learning Symposium on Monday, October 28, 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

“I’m thrilled to share the stage with two true pioneers in transforming education,” said Rep. Morgan. “It was a great opportunity to share my vision for education in Georgia and how we can deliver a student centered, personalized learning environment for every child.”

Rep. Morgan joined Director Richard Crandall, Wyoming Department of Education, and Deputy Secretary James Shelton, U.S. Department of Education as a keynote speaker on the topic of Driving an Innovative Policy Roadmap Toward the Transformation of Student Learning.
These three leaders offered remarks on the future of policy toward student-centered learning and explored policy strategies and approaches to promote innovation, improve technology infrastructure, provide better transparency of quality programs and create space for innovation so that all students are prepared to succeed.

The iNACOL Blended and Online Learning Symposium brings together more than 2,000 experts, leading practitioners, educators, innovators, and policymakers from national, state, district, private and other programs to network and learn at the premier K-12 blended and online learning conference. Experts in K-12 blended and online education have networking opportunities; learn about the latest trends, challenges and opportunities for new learning models; engage in interactive session presentations; and gain access to the latest research and best practices reports.

The symposium highlights the cutting-edge work in K-12 blended and online education across the country. The only national conference focused solely on K-12 blended and online learning, the symposium attracts the highest-level practitioners and policymakers seeking to develop innovative programs within educational institutions in the United States, Canada, Mexico and abroad each year.
