Rep. Sheila Jones Honors Local Veterans

ATLANTA – State Representative Sheila Jones (D-Atlanta) recently held a community fish fry to recognize and thank the veterans for their service to the country.

“My father was in the Navy and my brother was in Vietnam, and coming from a military family it is important to me to be able to express my thanks to the veterans,” said Rep. Jones. “Their service to our country is appreciated, and this was a way for us to say thank you for their sacrifices.”

The event was held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Rep. Jones’ district office in Atlanta. Wayfood Foods was the community sponsor, providing the fish for the fish fry. Veterans were able to enjoy hot fish, coleslaw, potato salad, bread, chips, soda, water and sweets.

Representative Sheila Jones represents the citizens of District 53, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton counties. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Appropriations, Health & Human Services, Juvenile Justice, and Transportation committees.
