Rep. Keisha Waites to Participate in Operation In-Pack

ATLANTA— State Representative Keisha Waites (D-Atlanta) will participate in Operation In-Pack to aid the homeless for the upcoming holiday season. Rep. Waites will distribute back packs filled with personal items at the Peachtree-Pine Homeless Shelter on Monday, December 23, 2013.

“I am thrilled to be a part of such a generous, innovative, and necessary program,” said Rep. Waites. “The initiative and thoughtfulness of Sabrina Robertson is not only brilliant but also an encouraging sign for Georgia’s future.”

Operation In-Pack is a program designed to have a more sustained impact on the lives of the homeless. Sabrina Robertson, a recent graduate from Georgia State University, has organized the program, and for the coming holiday season, Robertson, along with Rep. Waites, Anita Beaty, Director of Peachtree-Pine Homeless Shelter and other community stakeholders will distribute back packs filled with soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, lotion, gloves, and socks.

Representative Keisha Waites represents the citizens of District 60, which includes portions of Clayton and Fulton counties. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Interstate Cooperation, Juvenile Justice, Public Safety and Homeland Security, Special Rules, and Transportation committees.
