Rep. Mark Hamilton Receives 2014 Legislative Award from Council of Municipal Court Judges

ATLANTA — State Representative Mark Hamilton (R- Cumming) received the 2014 Legislative Award from the Council of Municipal Court Judges of the State of Georgia.

“I would like to thank the members of the Council of Municipal Court Judges for bestowing me with this honor,” said Rep. Hamilton. “We worked hard and tirelessly during this year’s session to enact legislation to improve our state’s judicial system, and I look forward to working together with the members of the Council of Municipal Court Judges in the future as we strive to better our system.”

Rep. Hamilton was selected to receive the award based on his support, assistance, and leadership on behalf of the Council during this year’s legislative session. Additionally, the Council of Municipal Court Judges recognized Rep. Hamilton for contributions he made to the State’s judicial system during the 2014 legislative session.

The Council of Municipal Court Judges held the Annual Business Luncheon and Awards Ceremony of the Council of Municipal Court Judges of the State of Georgia on June 26, 2014, where Rep. Hamilton was recognized.

The Council of Municipal Court Judges works closely with the Administrative Office of the Courts and the General Assembly on legislative matters that are pertinent to effective operation of our courts. The mission of the Council is to promote and maintain effective relations with the legislative and executive branches of government and present sound recommendations that support the needs of municipal courts. The Council maintains a Legislative Committee which is responsible for assisting the Council in setting annual legislative agendas, building supportive networks, and drafting proposed legislation.

Representative Mark Hamilton represents the citizens of District 24, which includes portions of Forsyth County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2006 and currently serves as Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations, Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications, Governmental Affairs, Rules, and Transportation committees.
