Rep. Sandra Scott Named Delegation Chair, Caucus Whip

ATLANTA — State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) was recently elected to serve as Chair of the Clayton County Delegation and Whip of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus for the 2015-2016 legislative term of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I am excited to move Clayton County forward,” said Rep. Scott. “My focus for 2015 will be on bridging the gap and enhancing communication between elected officials, businesses, clergy, and stake holders in our community.”

Beginning January 27, the delegation will hold public meetings in room 514 of the Coverdell Legislative Building (CLOB) from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. every two weeks. Meeting dates and topics include:
• January 27 – County Commissioners and Economic Development
• February 10 – Southern Region and Sheriff
• February 24 – Judicial System and Tax Director
• March 10 – Mayors and Librarian
• March 24 – School System, Colleges, Universities, and Technical Schools

Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes portions of Clayton and Henry counties. She was first elected into the House Representatives in 2010, and currently serves on the Human Relations & Aging, Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment, Science and Technology, and Special Rules committees
