House Majority Whip Matt Ramsey Announces Whip Team for the 2015-2016 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – Georgia House Majority Whip Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City) today announced the appointment of his Deputy Whip team.

“These Representatives are indicative of the strong geographic and ideological diversity within our caucus,” said Majority Whip Matt Ramsey. “Their hard work and integrity have earned the respect of their fellow House members, and their reputations as fair and trustworthy individuals will enable them to be effective conduits for information between members and our caucus leadership.”

The Deputy Whip team will include: Mandi Ballinger (R-Canton), Buzz Brockway (R-Lawrenceville), Valerie Clark (R-Lawrenceville), Geoff Duncan (R-Cumming), Micah Gravely (R-Douglasville), Rick Jasperse (R-Jasper), Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown), BJ Pak (R-Lilburn), John Pezold (R-Fortson), Regina Quick (R-Athens), Jason Shaw (R-Lakeland), Brian Strickland (R-McDonough), and Bruce Williamson (R-Monroe).

Members of the Deputy Whip team are responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping their fellow House members understand the details of bills and resolutions.

“I know each of these members of the Whip team, with their legislative understanding and steadfast counsel, can help our caucus advance strong conservative policies on behalf of the citizens of Georgia,” added Ramsey.

Representative Matt Ramsey represents the citizens of District 72, which includes portions of Coweta and Fayette counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2007, and currently serves as the House Majority Whip. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Ethics, Higher Education, Judiciary Non-Civil, Regulated Industries, Rules, and Ways & Means committees.

Representative Mandi L. Ballinger represents the citizens of District 23, which includes portions of Cherokee County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary of the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee. She also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Information & Audits, Judiciary Non-Civil, and Transportation committees.

Representative Buzz Brockway represents the citizens of District 102, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, Economic Development & Tourism, and Insurance committees.

Representative Valerie Clark represents the citizens of District 101, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Transportation Committee and the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education. She also serves on the Appropriations, Education, Health & Human Services, and Human Relations & Aging committees.

Representative Geoff Duncan represents the citizens of District 26, which includes portions of Forsyth County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary on the Interstate Cooperation Committee, and a member on the Banks & Banking, Ways and Means, and Science and Technology committees.

Representative Rick Jasperse represents the citizens of District 11, which includes portions of Gordon, Murray, and Pickens counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Health & Human Services. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Education and the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Human Relations and Aging, and Public Safety & Homeland Security, committees.

Representative Trey Kelley represents the citizens of District 16, which includes portions of Bartow, Haralson, and Polk counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary on the Higher Education Committee. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Code Revision, Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications, Health and Human Services, Ways and Means, and Judiciary committees.

Representative BJ Pak represents the citizens of District 108, which includes portions of Gwinnett County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and is currently serving as the Vice Chairman on the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee, and the Secretary on the Code Revision Committee. He also serves on the Health & Human Services and the Ways & Means committees.

Representative John Pezold represents the citizens of District 133, which includes portions of Harris, Muscogee, and Troup counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Small Business Development Committee and Secretary of the Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee. He is also a member of the Health and Human Services and Higher Education committees.

Representative Regina Quick represents the citizens of District 117, which includes portions of Barrow, Clarke, Jackson, and Oconee counties. She was elected in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary of the State Planning & Community Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs and Juvenile Justice committees.

Representative Jason Shaw represents the citizens of District 176, which includes all of Atkinson and Lanier counties, and portions of Lowndes, and Ware counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Insurance Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development and the Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish, & Parks, and Small Business Development committees.

Representative Brian Strickland represents the citizens of District 111, which includes portions of Henry County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Banks & Banking, Economic Development and Tourism, Intragovernmental, Industry and Labor, and Judiciary Non-Civil committees.

Representative Bruce Williamson represents the citizens of District 115, which includes portions of Walton County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Banks & Banking Committee. He also serves on the Governmental Affairs, Insurance, and Ways & Means committees.
