ATLANTA— State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Lake City) recently welcomed school board members, principals, educators and community leaders at the Capitol for the 2nd Annual District 74 Educational Leadership Day.

“My office hosted this event to offer educational leaders in my district the opportunity to share their concerns, engage in open dialogue, and develop a plan of action for how we can collectively work together to improve the quality of education,” said Rep. Stovall.

While at the state Capitol, attendees participated in a roundtable luncheon, sponsored by Students First and the Georgia Charter School Association, which included topics such as education reform and Opportunity School District legislation. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet the recording artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and learn more about the work of his foundation, The Ludacris Foundation.

Representative Valencia Stovall represents the citizens of District 74, which includes portions of Clayton County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves on the Code Revision, Interstate Cooperation, Education and Small Business Development committees.
