Rep. Bubber Epps Named Chairman of House Small Business Development Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Bubber Epps (R-Dry Branch) as the Chairman of the House Small Business Development Committee. Rep. Epps will also serve as the Secretary of the Transportation Committee and as a member on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, Insurance, Motor Vehicles, and Natural Resources & Environment committees.

“I am honored to have been chosen for this appointment by the Speaker and the members of the Committee on Assignments,” said Rep. Epps.  “I take seriously the opportunity that has been entrusted to me, and I look forward to joining my colleagues and fellow chairmen in supporting the Speaker and continuing to move the great State of Georgia forward.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Bubber Epps represents the citizens of District 144, which includes portions of Bibb, Bleckley, Houston, Jones, Laurens, Twiggs, and Wilkinson counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2008, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Small Business Development Committee, and the Secretary of the Transportation Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources, Insurance, Motor Vehicles, and Natural Resources & Environment committees.
