Rep. Jason Shaw Named Chairman of House Industry & Labor Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Jason Shaw (R-Lakeland) as the Chairman of the House Industry & Labor Committee. Rep. Shaw will also serve as a member on the Appropriations, Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish, & Parks, Insurance, and Small Business Development committees.

“I am honored that the Speaker and the members of the Committee on Assignments selected me to serve as the Chairman of this very important committee,” said Rep. Shaw.  “This committee deals with crucial pieces of legislation that affect all Georgians, and I am eager to begin working with my fellow committee members to tackle issues that are important to the citizens of this state.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Jason Shaw represents the citizens of District 176, which includes all of Atkinson and Lanier counties, and portions of Lowndes, and Ware counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Industry & Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development and the Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish, & Parks, Insurance, and Small Business Development committees.
