Rep. Bruce Broadrick Named Vice Chairman of House Appropriations Subcommittee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Bruce Broadrick (R-Dalton) as the Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources. Rep. Broadrick currently serves as a member of the House Health & Human Services, Industry & Labor, and Intragovernmental Coordination committees, and as the Vice Chairman on the Game, Fish, & Parks Committee.

“The most important thing we do as a legislature is generate a budget, and human resources accounts for nearly one-fourth of that budget annually,” said Rep. Broadrick. “I’m honored for the opportunity to serve on such an important committee and look forward to working with Chairman Dempsey and the other subcommittee members next session.”

The House Appropriations Committee, chaired by Rep. Terry England (R-Auburn), is tasked with writing the legislation for the state’s fiscal year budget.

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Bruce Broadrick represents the citizens of District 4, which includes portions of Whitfield County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Human Resources and the Game, Fish, and Parks committees. He is also a member of the Health & Human Services, Industry & Labor, and Intragovernmental Coordination committees.
