ATLANTA — Speaker of the House David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) has appointed the following members to the House Study Committee on Grandparents Raising Grandchildren:

- Rep. Karen Bennett (D-Stone Mountain)
- Rep. Tommy Benton (R-Jefferson)
- Rep. John Deffenbaugh (R-Lookout Mountain)
- Rep. Tom Kirby (R-Loganville)
- Rep. Dexter Sharper (D-Valdosta)
- Rep. Sam Teasley (R-Marietta)
This study committee is established by House Resolution 474 and will study the issues facing grandparents and other family members as primary caregivers and guardians, including access to services, financial support, and making medical and academic decisions for children in their care.
