Speaker David Ralston Appoints Representative Tom McCall to Erosion and Sediment Control Overview Council

ATLANTA — Speaker of the House David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) has appointed Representative Tom McCall (R-Elberton) to the Erosion and Sediment Control Overview Council.

Representative McCall represents Elbert and Lincoln counties and portions of Madison, Wilkes, and Columbia counties. He is the Chairman of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee and serves on the Natural Resources and Environment, Transportation and Game, Fish and Parks Committees.

The Erosion and Sediment Control Overview Council provides guidance on the best management practices for implementing any erosion and sediment control plan.

The council is composed of members appointed by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House as well as representatives of the Department of Transportation, the Environmental Protection Division of the Department of Natural Resources, and the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority.  Other members include a licensed professional engineer and two representatives of the highway contracting industry.
