State Representative Jill Chambers Named Honorary Georgia State Trooper

ATLANTA- On Tuesday, the Georgia State Patrol presented Representative Jill Chambers (R-Atlanta) a proclamation naming her an Honorary Georgia State Trooper. Chambers was given the honor in recognition of her efforts in the passage of legislation promoting better public safety for all Georgians.

During the 2006 Legislative Session, Chambers sponsored House Bill 1209, which created a new Georgia State Patrol motorcycle unit in metro Atlanta. As a member of the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee and as Secretary of the House Public Safety Subcommittee of Appropriations, Representative Chambers has a longstanding dedication to preserving public safety in the State of Georgia and giving a helping hand to the law enforcement community.

“I am honored to have been honored by the fine men and women of the Georgia State Patrol, and proud to have helped bring the much needed motorcycle patrol unit to metro Atlanta,” Chambers remarked.

Representative Chambers serves as the Chair of the MARTOC Committee and is a member of the House Education Committee as well.
