“The Ladies Auxiliary does great work for our community, and I am honored to present them with a Georgia Flag that has been flown over our State Capitol,” Rep. Kelley said, “We are now in the holiday season, which is a special time of remembrance and thankfulness. During Christmastime, we remember that God sent His son to walk among the Earth. At Thanksgiving, we thank Him for our blessings, and on Veteran’s Day, we thank those who protect the blessings which God has given us. I am thankful for our Veterans, and I am thankful for each of you who have supported them during their service and beyond.”

Rep. Kelley presented the commemorative flag to the group after it was flown over the Georgia State Capitol in memory of United States Air Force veteran and long-time Polk County Commissioner Billy Croker.

Commemorative flags of the United States and the State of Georgia are available through the Georgia Building Authority.  These flags are presented in remembrance for veterans, family, friends, current members of the armed services, or to honor someone for a special accomplishment, service or retirement. Each one of these memorial flags has flown over the State Capitol and comes with a certificate of authenticity including the date on which it was flown.

Representative Trey Kelley represents the citizens of District 16, which includes portions of Bartow, Haralson, and Polk counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2012, and currently serves as the Secretary on the Higher Education Committee. He also serves on the Banks & Banking, Code Revision, Energy, Utilities, & Telecommunications, Health & Human Services, Judiciary, and Ways & Means committees.
