SPEAKER APPOINTS REPRESENTATIVE TOM GRAVES TO THE HOUSE ASTHMA STRATEGIC PLANNING STUDY COMMITTEE

ATLANTA—Speaker of the House Glenn Richardson (R-Hiram) has tapped State Representative Tom Graves to serve on the House Asthma Strategic Planning Study Committee.

“I am pleased that Representative Graves has accepted this responsibility,” Richardson said. “I am confident that he will do a great job for our state.”

The House Asthma Strategic Planning Study Committee, created by House Resolution 1732, is tasked with studying the current prevalence of asthma in Georgia and determining a state-wide strategy for reducing the prevalence of the disease as well as improving the health status of Georgians with asthma. By bringing together interested parties from the governmental, public health, education, and children’s health sectors, the Committee will present its’ findings or recommend legislation to the House no later than December 31, 2006.
