Representative Ben Harbin Records Video Budget Update

House Appropriations Chairman gives insight to 2007 budget process

Atlanta – State Rep. Ben Harbin (R-Evans), Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, has recorded a video message updating the public on the process that the House has undertaken for the state budget during the 2007 legislative session. The video message has been uploaded onto Rep. Harbin’s legislative website, making it available to Georgians statewide. In this video message, Chairman Harbin touches on several key factors that are affecting this year’s budget process.

“The budget is the only constitutionally mandated duty of the General Assembly. We take that job very seriously, and strive to make the end result something we can all be proud of,” said Chairman Harbin.

The Georgia House and Senate will be taking a two week recess in order to give Members additional time to analyze not only issues concerning the budgets, but also many other pieces of legislation.
