Rep. Valencia Stovall Comments on Clayton County CID Legislation Bill Signing

ATLANTA —State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Lake City) today commented on the signing of House Bill 807 into law by Governor Nathan Deal. HB 807 was signed into law on March 31, 2016 and will allow for the creation of community improvement districts within Clayton County.

“This is a huge boost for economic development in Clayton County,” said Rep. Stovall. “The creation of these new districts opens the door for further collaboration with CIDs in neighboring cities and counties like the partnership between the Airport South CID and the Airport West CID. I thank my fellow colleagues in the Clayton County Delegation for their diligence in making HB 807 a priority this session.”

HB 807 will create one or more community improvement districts within Clayton County and each of its municipalities. These districts will provide provision of governmental services such as street and road construction and maintenance; parks and recreational areas and facilities; storm water and sewage collection and disposal systems; development, storage, treatment, purification, and distribution of water; public transportation; and terminal and dock facilities and parking facilities.
