Rep. Ed Rynders Announces Funding for Leesburg Water Improvement

ATLANTA – State Representative Ed Rynders (R-Albany) today announced that the city of Leesburg was recently awarded a $979,161 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) board of directors.

“I’m thankful to Mayor Quinn, the Leesburg city council and City Manager, Bob Alexander, for their commitment to improving the infrastructure and quality of life for the citizens of Leesburg,” said Rep. Rynders.

These funds will finance raising the existing 500,000 gallon elevated water tank, upgrading the existing wells with high efficiency pump motors, improving water mains, replacing leaking water mains and SCADA system improvements for the tank and well sites. This project will ensure Georgia Environmental Protection Division minimum standards for pressure by providing a more reliable water supply and eliminating deficiencies in the water distribution system.

Representative Ed Rynders represents the citizens of District 152, which includes all of Lee and Worth counties, and a portion of Sumter County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2002, and is currently the Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, Secretary of the Health & Human Services, Appropriations, and Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Committees, as well as Ex-Officio of the Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Rynders is a member of the Intragovernmental Coordination and Transportation committees.
