Rep. Christian Coomer Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel

ATLANTA — State Representative Christian Coomer (R-Cartersville) was recently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve, effective June 10, 2016.    

“It has been one of the most enduring honors of my lifetime to serve my community, my state, and my nation in both my civilian and military roles,” said Rep. Coomer.  “I’m looking forward to many more years of service.”

Lt. Col. Coomer, who practices law in Cartersville, has served for the past 15 years in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps, first on active duty, then as a Reservist and member of the Georgia Air National Guard.

Representative Christian Coomer represents the citizens of District 14, which includes portions of Bartow and Floyd counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010, and currently serves as Chairman of the Transportation Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development and the Banks & Banking, Judiciary Non-Civil, Retirement, and Juvenile Justice committees.
