Rep. Beth Beskin Named New Chief Deputy Whip for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – Georgia House Majority Whip Christian Coomer (R-Cartersville) today announced the appointment of a new Chief Deputy Whip, Rep. Beth Beskin (R-Atlanta).

“I am thrilled and honored to be selected for this position by Majority Whip Christian Coomer,” said Rep. Beskin.  “I look forward to working with Whip Coomer, the Deputy Whips and the entire Majority Caucus to effectively and efficiently move our legislative initiatives from introduction to passage and implementation.”

Members of the majority whip team and the Chief Deputy, in particular, play a critical role by monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and by helping members of the majority caucus to better understand the details of bills and resolutions.

“Rep. Beskin has demonstrated a natural leadership style that makes her a perfect fit for serving as Chief Deputy Whip,” said Majority Whip Coomer.  “She is trusted by other members of the House of Representatives to be a person of integrity who is continually striving for excellence.  I look forward to working closely with Rep. Beskin to move forward a conservative, constitutionally-based agenda in the General Assembly.”

Representative Beth Beskin represents the citizens of District 54, which includes portions of Fulton County. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2014, and currently serves as Chair of the MARTOC Governance Subcommittee.
