Rep. Jason Shaw Named Chairman of House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Jason Shaw (R-Lakeland) as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure.  Rep. Shaw will also serve as a member on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development, and the Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish, & Parks, Industry & Labor, Insurance and Small Business Development committees.

“I am honored to be selected by the Speaker and the Committee on Assignments to serve as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and Infrastructure,” said Rep. Shaw.  “Georgia is a vast state with a multitude of transportation assets such as our ports, airports and an excellent network of roads. However, our needs are as great as our regions are diverse, and as such, I am committed to finding solutions that meet local needs while bringing us together as one unified state.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Jason Shaw represents the citizens of District 176, which includes all of Atkinson and Lanier counties, and portions of Lowndes, and Ware counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as the Chairman Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation & Infrastructure. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Economic Development, and the Economic Development & Tourism, Game, Fish, & Parks, Industry & Labor, Insurance and Small Business Development committees.
