Rep. Bert Reeves Appointed to Deputy Whip Team for the 2017-2018 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Bert Reeves (R-Marietta) was recently appointed to serve as a member of the House Majority Caucus Deputy Whip team. Rep. Reeves was appointed to serve on the Whip Team by House Majority Whip Christian Coomer (R-Cartersville), and his appointment is for a two-year term concurrent with his service as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives.

“I’m very excited to have been appointed to the Republican Caucus Whip Team,” said Rep. Reeves. “I look forward to working hard alongside my fellow caucus members to ensure that they are getting the support they need to pass good policy through the House.”

Members of the Deputy Whip team are responsible for monitoring legislation as it moves through both chambers of the General Assembly and helping their fellow House members understand the details of bills and resolutions. 

The Deputy Whip team will include Reps.: Beth Beskin, (R-Atlanta), Chief Deputy Whip; Dave Belton (R-Buckhead); Shaw Blackmon (R-Bonaire); John Corbett (R-Lake Park); Micah Gravley (R-Douglasville); Dominic LaRiccia (R-Douglas); Eddie Lumsden (R-Armuchee); Jesse Petrea (R-Savannah); Betty Price (R-Roswell); Bert Reeves (R-Marietta); Brian Strickland (R-McDonough); and Bill Werkheiser (R-Glennville).

Representative Bert Reeves represents the citizens of District 34, which includes portions of Cobb County. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2014, and currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Judiciary Non-Civil Committee. He also serves on the Higher Education, Insurance, Interstate Cooperation and Ways & Means committees.
