Rep. Hatchett Appointed to House Rural Development Council

ATLANTA – State Representative Matt Hatchett (R- Dublin) was recently appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) to serve on the House Rural Development Council. This council, which was created by House Resolution 389 during the recent legislative session, will work with rural communities to find ways to encourage economic growth.

“I’m honored to represent the citizens of district 150 as a member of the House Rural Development Council, as I’m certain that the work of this council will greatly benefit our community and state as a whole,” said Rep. Hatchett. “Georgia has seen a tremendous economic boom in recent years, but many of our state’s rural communities have not reaped the same benefits. The House Rural Development Council will explore ways to revive neglected rural communities across our state and rejuvenate rural Georgia’s private businesses, and I’m proud to serve on this council that will work to solve some of our state’s greatest economic challenges.”

The House Rural Development Council will host its first meeting next month. More details on that meeting will be announced soon.
