Rep. Boddie Launches District 62 Youth Summer Meals Program to Combat Youth Hunger

ATLANTA – State Representative William Boddie (D-East Point), the Atlanta Community Food Bank and local elected officials recently launched the District 62 Youth Summer Meals Program. This initiative aims to combat youth hunger by identifying and promoting summer meals sites in District 62 that provide breakfast and lunch meals to youth in need.061217 WBoddie Photo 1

“In the past school year alone, 1.1 million Georgia students were enrolled to receive free or reduced-priced meals,” said Rep. Boddie. “When schools close their doors for summer break, these students no longer have access to the nutritious meals they received during the school year. I’m thrilled to announce that the District 62 Youth Summer Meals Program will connect children in need with food resources this summer, and I’m confident that this initiative will help to fight youth hunger within our community.”

Rep. Boddie will serve as Chairman and East Point City Councilwoman Stephanie Gordon will serve as Vice Chairman of the District 62 Youth Summer Meals Program. Tiffany Stanley will serve as Executive Director of the District 62 Youth Summer Meals Program.
