Rep. Kelley Named Legislator of the Year by GAPA

ATLANTA – State Representative Trey Kelley (R-Cedartown) recently received the 2017 Legislator of the Year Award from the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA) at their annual summer conference.

“Physician assistants are a crucial part of our health care delivery system,” said Rep. Kelley. “Part of the solution to Georgia’s rural healthcare issues involve having a stable climate for mid-level providers to practice in our state. I remain committed to improving Georgia’s rural healthcare system and am honored to have been selected as GAPA’s Legislator of the Year.”

Annually, GAPA selects one member of the Georgia House of Representatives and one member of the Georgia State Senate to each receive the Legislator of the Year Award. Rep. Kelley was selected as the 2017 Legislator of the Year for his efforts to improve Georgia’s climate for Physician Assistant’s through his work as a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 125 during the 2017 legislative session.
