During their visit to the Capitol, Rep. Jones’ constituents took a tour of the State Capitol and brought and donated school supplies.

“The MLK statue unveiling ceremony was a tremendous opportunity to host my constituents at our State Capitol, and I was humbled by the generosity they showed by donating school supplies,” said Rep. Jones. “When students go to school without the proper supplies, they’re unable to learn and excel in the classroom. The donated supplies will meet a critical need in our community by equipping students for the classroom.”

Rep. Jones will distribute the donated supplies to local schools in her district.

Representative Sheila Jones represents the citizens of District 53, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton counties. She was elected into the House of Representatives in 2004, and currently serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education, Health & Human Services, Juvenile Justice, and Transportation committees.
