Rep. Bill Werkheiser Named Chairman of House Industry and Labor Committee

ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) recently named State Representative Bill Werkheiser (R-Glennville) as the Chairman of the House Industry and Labor Committee. Rep. Werkheiser will also serve as a member on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and on the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Public Safety & Homeland Security and State Properties committees.

“I’m honored that Speaker Ralston appointed me to serve in this leadership position,” said Rep. Werkheiser. “The House Industry and Labor Committee plays a critical role in dealing with issues regarding labor and management relations, and I believe that my unique experience as a business owner and operator provide me with the foundation needed to succeed as Chairman of this important committee.”

Representative Bill Werkheiser represents the citizens of District 157, which includes portions of Evans, Tattnall and Wayne counties. He was elected into the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Industry and Labor Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and on the Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Public Safety & Homeland Security and State Properties committees.
