Rep. Heath Clark Named Chairman of House Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee

ATLANTA – The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named State Representative Heath Clark (R-Warner Robins) as the Chairman of the House Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee.  Rep. Clark will also serve as a member on the Insurance, Intragovernmental Coordination, Science & Technology, Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and Special Rules committees.

“I am humbled and excited that Speaker Ralston has afforded me the opportunity to serve as Chairman of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee,” said Rep. Clark. “I look forward to continuing to protect the missions that are currently in Georgia, as well as finding ways to make Georgia a destination for new missions. I am also eager to help serve the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation to ensure that they have a seamless transition to civilian life and a high quality of life here in our great state.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Heath Clark represents the citizens of District 147, which includes portions of Houston County. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2014 and currently serves as Chairman of the Defense and Veterans Affairs Committee. He also serves on the Insurance, Intragovernmental Coordination, Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety, Special Rules and Science and Technology committees.
