Rep. Erick Allen Sworn in, Receives Committee Assignments for the 2019-2020 Legislative Term

ATLANTA – State Representative Erick Allen (D-Smyrna) was sworn into office as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives on Monday, January 14, 2019, marking his first day of the 2019-2020 legislative term. Monday was the first day of the first term of the 155th legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly.

In addition to being officially sworn in, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Rep. Allen to the Banks & Banking, Code Revision and Human Relations & Aging committees.

“I am very excited to start my work representing the residents of the 40th and all Georgians,” said Rep. Allen. “I am pleased with the committee assignments and stand ready to work with each chairman to progress good legislation.”

The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Erick Allen represents the citizens of District 40, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton counties. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2018 and currently serves on the Banks & Banking, Code Revision and Human Relations & Aging Committees
