Rep. Hill Announces House Office to be Closed 3 Days

ATLANTA – As part of the three furlough days being taken by state employees by the end of this year, all House and Senate offices will be closed on September 8, October 9, and November 25, 2009. These furlough days will affect the state Representatives and Senators as well as the General Assembly staff.

“I understand that these closings may cause an inconvenience for Georgians; however, in times like these we are forced to make some painful budget cuts,” said Representative Calvin Hill (R- Canton). “It would be unfair to ask state employees to make a sacrifice that we are unwilling to ask of ourselves. Despite this fact, I will remain available to my constituents on these days.”
Should any constituents need assistance on September 8, October 9, or November 25, 2009, they can contact Rep. Hill at (770) 712-2879.
