Representative Mitchell Speaks on House Bill 41

ATLANTA- Today state Representative Billy Mitchell (D- Stone Mountain) announced his hopes that House Bill 41 will be passed by the General Assembly. HB 41 would discontinue and prevent the state from making tax payer funded investments in companies who produce music with obscene lyrics.

“While I am indeed a strong supporter of free speech, I do not believe those who would use language that is among the most vile, should be tax payer subsidized,” said Rep. Mitchell. “This bill would prohibit the state from investing in companies that produce music with such obscene lyrics.”
