Rep. Ann Purcell Awarded for Her Work on SB 178

ATLANTA – State Representative Ann R. Purcell (R-Rincon) recently received the Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award from the Georgia Council on Aging (GCOA), as well as a Legislator of the Year award from the Assisted Living Federation of America and the Georgia Community Care Association. These recognitions come after Representative Purcell’s work last year on Senate Bill 178, which established the “assisted living community” as a new category of long-term health care provider in Georgia. Rep. Jay Powell Honored as “Legislator of the Year” By Georgia Retail Association

ATLANTA— State Representative Jay Powell (R-Camilla) was named as the 2010 “Legislator of the Year” by the Georgia Retail Association (GRA).  Rep. Powell received the honor for his work on House Bill 1082, which was designed to allow local governments in Georgia to decide if they wanted to provide inventory tax relief to businesses within their limits. ATLANTA – State Representative Lynn Smith (R-Newnan) was recently selected as a 2010 Legislator of the Year by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
