Rep. Hawkins Encourages Residents in Hall and White Counties to Participate in 2020 U.S. Census

ATLANTA – State Representative Lee Hawkins (R-Gainesville) encourages residents in Hall and White counties to participate in the 2020 U.S. Census before the September 30 deadline. As of September 2, Georgia’s self-response rate is 60.3 percent, which is behind the national average of 65 percent. The response rate in Hall County is 63.5 percent, and White County’s response rate is 49.9 percent. Continue reading “Rep. Cove’s Law Legislation Sponsored by Rep. Hawkins Signed into Law

ATLANTA – State Representative Lee Hawkins (R-Gainesville) today announced that House Bill 241, Cove’s Law, was signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal on Monday, May 8, 2017. HB 241, sponsored by Rep. Hawkins, will add Krabbe disease to the list of metabolic and genetic conditions for which newborn screenings may be conducted by the Department of Public Health.
