Rep. Park Cannon, Local Leaders Call for Federal Investment in Clean Energy, Jobs to Grow State Economy, Curb Climate Change

ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta), along with Atlanta Councilmember-elect Liliana Bakhtiari, Sarah Riggs Amico, executive chairperson of Jack Cooper, and Dan Rosenfelt, founder of Electric Owl Studios, recently held a press conference to urge the U.S. Congress to pass the Build Back Better Act (BBBA). The U.S. House of Representatives passed the measure in mid-November, and the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the legislation by the end of the month.

Rep. Park Cannon Joins Good Trouble Network, First National Network of Black LGBTQ+ Elected Officials

ATLANTA – State Representative Park Cannon (D-Atlanta) today announced that she has joined the founding cohort of the National Black Justice Coalition’s (NBJC) Good Trouble Network, which is the first national network of Black LGBTQ+ elected officials. The Good Trouble Network seeks to coordinate and synthesize political priorities that benefit Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer+ and same-gender loving (SGL) people, including people living with HIV/AIDS.
