Spiro Amburn to Retire from State Government after Career of Distinguished Service
ATLANTA – Speaker of the House Jon Burns (R-Newington) announced today he has appointed former state representative and longtime House Appropriations Chairman Terry England as his Chief of Staff. England will succeed Spiro Amburn who is retiring from state government after a distinguished career.
ATLANTA – State Representative Terry England (R-Auburn), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, was recently named by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP) as its 2021 Family Medicine Legislative Champion of the Year for his legislative efforts to assist family physicians and patients across the state.
ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) today announced the members of the House Rural Development Council for the 2021-2022 legislative session. This council, which was created in 2017, works with rural communities to find ways to encourage economic growth and job creation.
ATLANTA – Yesterday, House Majority Leader Jon Burns (R-Newington) joined Governor Brian Kemp, Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan, Speaker of the House David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge), Speaker Pro-Tempore Jan Jones (R-Milton), House Appropriations Chairman Terry England (R-Auburn), and other members of House and Senate leadership to announce that more than 57,000 employees of the state of Georgia will receive a one-time bonus of $1,000 during the current fiscal year.
